What does "Red Honey" mean? Is there honey in the coffee?
No, there is no honey in it. "Red honey" is a processing method. The Arabica cherries are dried with a sticky, sugary layer of fruit still clinging to the beans. The beans are turned by hand and slow-dried until the fruit's natural sugars caramelize onto their surface. This gives the cup a rich body and natural sweetness.
What does it taste like?
Expect red berries, tangerine, jaggery, caramel and cocoa, with a smooth, lingering sweetness. It is fruit-forward and sweet rather than sharp or bitter.
Where is the coffee from?
It is single-origin Arabica from Samruddhi Estate in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India, grown shade-covered at about 1,300 metres above sea level.
What is the roast level? Is it bold or mild?
It is a medium roast. That keeps the fruit and sweetness in the cup while adding body and a cocoa finish. It is smooth and rounded, not dark or smoky.
Is this coffee good for beginners?
Yes. The natural sweetness and low bitterness make it a good introduction to single-origin specialty coffee. It also has enough layers to interest experienced coffee drinkers.
How many cups does one pack make?
At the standard ratio of 10g of coffee per 150–200ml water, a 120g pack yields roughly 10–12 cups, and a 240g pack roughly 20–24 cups. This varies slightly
with your preferred strength.
How should I store it, and how long does it stay fresh?
Store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from moisture, heat and sunlight. Always use a dry spoon. For best flavour, use it within 45 days of opening.
